There's something scary about brightly coloured wild foods, something that makes you suspicious of whether or not you're going to be seriously ill... or turn into a frog when you eat it.
So what about this one;
 |
It almost looks sinister doesn't it? |
 |
But it's actually an amethyst deceiver which despite it's suspicious appearance and even more suspicious name is actually edible. |
 |
As well as the amethyst deceivers we found this too, Michael seems to have a knack for spotting the best mushrooms, this penny bun was hidden under pine needles and even then he spotted it. As you can see he is very proud of himself. |

Enjoy; supper at the camp site eating mushrooms and bacon in their pyjamas after a walk in the woods, a great way to end the day. |
I hope our foraging has inspired you to get out there and do some of your own, it would be great to see you on one of our
field to fork courses at Riddy Wood to learn more about foraging, maybe see you there.
